Counselling Terms and Conditions

Please see our full terms and conditions for treatment below, including the confidentiality agreement and cancellation policies.  By participating in any form of counselling treatment, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions laid out below.  Please note, individual therapists in our team may have additional terms and conditions which they will provide you with during your initial consultation.

 

  1. Payment is due at the end of each session in either cash or cheque form.  If you wish to pay by bank transfer or standing order, we need to receive this before the session commences. 

  2. If you need to cancel or rebook a session for another date or time, a minimum of 5 days notice must be given.  If less than 5 days notice is given, a cancellation charge will be applied.  If less than 12 hours notice is given or if you do not attend, the full session fee will still be payable.  All cancellation / missed session fees will be added onto the next session charge.  

  3. If two back to back sessions are missed with no prior notice, treatment will be deemed finished, however outstanding costs for missed sessions will still be payable within 28 days of your last attended session.

  4. All our therapy work is carried out in the strictest confidence.  You are free to talk about your sessions with whoever you choose, but we are bound to keep all your information confidential.  The only exceptions are:

    1. Like all practioners, we are required to present our work in supervision with an experienced and qualified therapist.  Your personal details will never be revealed however your case may be discussed to help us improve aspects of your treatment.
    2. If we think you are a danger to yourself or someone else, we are required to speak to the relevant professional.  We will always try to discuss this with you prior to making this decision.
    3. If there are any revelations of acts of terrorism, we are duty bound to report it.    
  5. Each session will last for 50 minutes.  If you are early to a session, you will need to wait until your start time.  If you are late, the time will not be made up at the end. 

  6. You are required to give 2 weeks notice of ending treatment.  This is to allow us enough time to bring the sessions to a proper close.  If you end treatment without 2 weeks notice, you will still be charged for those final two sessions which will be due within 28 days of last attended session.

  7. Please abstain from alcohol and illicit substances on the day of your therapy session.  The session will not go ahead if we believe you are under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any other substance which may impede your participation.  If we decide to cancel the session for this reason, the normal fee will still apply. 

  8. All client notes will be kept securely for a maximum of 4 years from the end of treatment. 

  9. We guarantee to treat all clients equally, irrespective of race, religion, gender, sexuality or any other personal lifestyle choice.
